What to Check on a Used MacBook

Two things matter more on a MacBook than on a Windows laptop. • The display. Open a plain white and a plain black image full screen and look for dead pixels, patches or lines.
• Every key. Open a text editor and press every key once, including the arrow keys and the number row.
• The battery. Unplug the charger and confirm the machine holds a charge. Two hours of backup is guaranteed for 15 days.
• Ports and camera. Plug something into each USB port, and open the camera app once.
