How Should You Clean a Laptop Safely?

  • Never spray liquid onto the screen. Spray the cloth, then wipe. Liquid running down the panel edge is how a display dies.
  • Keep household glass cleaner away from it. Ammonia strips the anti reflective coating off a laptop screen permanently.
  • Shut down and unplug first. Cleaning a running keyboard is how keys get pressed and liquid finds power.
  • Use a microfibre cloth, not tissue. Paper leaves fine scratches on a coated display.
